Alligator Creek Chapel
ALLIGATOR CREEK, FLORIDA
This intimate chapel was designed for a private estate in Florida to house a historic pipe organ rescued from a church fire in upstate New York. The design is Gothic Revival and its construction is a throwback to 19th century building methods. Solid masonry walls are the substrate for poured tabby mixed with crushed oyster shells. The details were taken from Gothic Revival buildings of the 1850’s to ensure authenticity.
The chapel was published in Southern Accents in December 2005.
